A disciplinary committee and anti-ragging committee is constituted to improve discipline in the classrooms and the campus by conducting enquiries on cases of misbehaviour and recommending suitable punishment. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited in and outside the institution. Any complaint about ragging (if any) is brought to the notice of the Anti-ragging committee which takes cognizance of the matter and takes immediate action Students becoming a victim of ragging should inform to the Progamme Officer of Student Development Board and hostel warden.

Objectives

1. To aware the students of dehumanizing effect of ragging inherent in its perversity.
2. To keep a continuous watch and vigil over ragging so as to prevent its occurrence and recurrence.
3. To promptly and stringently deal with the incidents of ragging brought to our notice.

Functions of Committee

1. To consider the complaints received from the students and conduct enquiry and submit report to the Anti- Ragging Committee along with punishment recommended for the offenders;
2. Oversee the procedure of obtaining undertaking from the students in accordance with the provisions;
3. Conduct workshops against ragging menace and orient the students;
4. To provide students the information pertaining to contact address and telephone numbers of the person(s) identified to receive complaints/distress calls;
5. To create awareness among the students about Anti ragging.

Grievance Redressal cell

The institution has established a Grievance Redressal Cell, which is responsible for addressing both general and academic complaints from staff and students. The cell ensures prompt resolution of these issues through regular committee meetings, where potential solutions are discussed and implemented. Staff and students are notified to submit their complaints regarding administration, accounts, finance, library, academics, and hostels, among other concerns, through suggestion/complaint boxes conveniently located in the main building, library, gents, and ladies hostels. If a grievance falls outside the jurisdiction of the committee, it is promptly escalated to the appropriate authorities for further attention and resolution.

Objectives:

1. To establish a platform that facilitates staff and students in addressing their concerns and issues, both related to academics and non-academic matters.
2. To encourage and gather suggestions from the staff and students, with the intention of identifying areas for improvement within the institution.
3. To ensure efficient and effective solutions are provided to staff and students, enabling them to effectively address and resolve their problems or grievances.

Functions:

1. Upon receiving grievances from staff and students, the institution’s Grievance Redressal Cell promptly addresses and attends to each case with due diligence.
2. The cell diligently reviews all the cases, taking into account the established policies and guidelines, and takes appropriate actions accordingly to address the concerns raised.
3. After resolving the cases, the Grievance Redressal Cell prepares and submits a detailed report to the relevant authorities, providing an account of the cases attended to and the actions taken to redress the grievances.

Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

In compliance with the Supreme Court Judgment and guidelines issued in 1997 to provide for the effective enforcement of the basic human right of gender equality and guarantee against sexual harassment and abuse, more particularly against sexual harassment at work places the University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued circulars and insisting the enactment of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal Act Sexual Harassment Act in April 2013) to all the universities and colleges affiliated to it advising them to establish a permanent cell /committee and to frame guidelines to combat sexual harassment, violence against women and ragging at the universities and colleges.

It has further advised them to be proactive by developing a conducive atmosphere on the campus, where the women are respected and they are treated with dignity. As per the guidelines of UGC and the Supreme Court, a Committee against Sexual Harassment/ (ICC) Internal Complaints Committee at as been established to provide a healthy and congenial atmosphere to the staff and students of the College.

Prevention of Caste-based Discrimination Committee

Any kind of discrimination on the basis of caste, locality, social/ economical background or gender is prohibited at Swami Sahajanand Bharati College of Education, Shrirampur. The Prevention of Caste-based Discrimination Committee (PCDC) shall understand the terms of the letter from UGC in words and spirit, and initiate continuous actions to ensure that no official or faculty member indulge in any kind of discrimination against any community or category of students, faculty or staff members. Sensitizing officials/ faculty members of the campus while dealing with such cases would also be the responsibility of such committee. As per the letter from the University Grants Commission (9^th September 2021 Ref. D.O.No.F.1-7/2011 (SCT), it was informed that the Officials/ faculty members should desist from any act of discrimination against SC/ ST/ OBC students on grounds of their social origin.

Objectives of the Committee:

1. To look after the related matters (if any) of depriving a student/staff or group of students on the basis of caste, creed, language, ethnicity, gender, different ability.
2. To uphold the dignity of the institution by addressing the concerns (if any) brought into the notice related to equality in offering or receiving education inside the B.Ed college campus.
3. To provide conducive environment for academic and professional growth of the student-teachers and others belonging to the B.Ed college.
4. To protect the rights of every individual without any prejudice to his/her appearance or lifestyle the process of learning /training inside the college campus.
5. To eliminate discrimination against or harassment of any individual in all forms by prohibiting it and by providing preventive and protective measures to facilitate its eradication punishments for those who indulge in any form of discrimination or harassment.

Nature & Functioning of Committee:

 The Committee will hear and address complaints regarding caste-based discrimination at Swami Sahajanand Bharati College of Education, Shrirampur, Dist. Ahmednagar Maharashtra State.

• At least one member of the committee shall be from the reserved category.
• The Committee will make recommendations to the Principal, based on observations and examinations of complaints.
• The complaint shall include sufficient details of the alleged act of discrimination or harassment.
• Based on the committee’s recommendation, the Principal shall give the final decision. The Principal may further institute, an Enquiry Committee, if required and deemed fit, for further examination of such complaints.
• The Committee will follow relevant Acts and Rules of Government of India and Court Orders etc., as applicable from time to time.
• Action Taken Report will also be sent to University Grants Commission and Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune if any case of caste discrimination is reported.

Divyangjan Cell

SSB College of Education, Shrirampur is committed to understand the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Rules,1996 and Amended Rules for Persons with Disabilities are committed to understanding the various rights, regulations, scholarship provisions, facilities, and opportunities provided by these laws and putting them into practice for the Divyangjan.

Divyangjan committee was established in 2020. The committee was formed with an objective of empowerment of students with disabilities (Divyangjan, connoted as divine body). The committee conducts programs to create awareness and accept diversity as a part of human existence in its institutional practices. It further enables the atmosphere of respect and preserves the identities of the Divyangjan students. This committee facilitates teachers with knowledge and skills of using various aids and appliances required to cater needs of differently abled students. It further makes teaching more inclusive and cognizant for the Divyangjan students. The committee also looks after the physical infrastructure and availing resources as per the special needs of the students.

College has established the Equal Opportunity Cell to assist and advice the student-teachers from the marginalized sections of the society who are identified as SCs, STs, OBCs, Minorities and Divyangjan. The college ensures that student-teachers from these sections are not deprived of access to educational and cultural resources for their upliftment and overall development. The Cell of the college encourages the student-teachers from socially disadvantaged groups in attaining their optimum potential in our college by getting training of teaching and learning. The college always orients such student-teachers at the time of general orientation programme about various types of scholarships schemes for completing their education. Currently, the Cell is catering to the needs of almost 100 student-teachers of both B.Ed I year and B.Ed. II year for pursuing this professional degree from the Savitribai Phule Pune, University Pune.

Aims and objectives:

1. 1. To provide guidance and counselling to student-teachers with respect to academic, financial, social and other matters and to oversee the effective implementation of policies and programmes for disadvantaged groups.
   2. To adopt measures to ensure due share of utilization by SC, ST, OBC, minorities in admissions, and to improve their performances in training period.
   3. To orient them for scholarships, which will help them receive financial support from State/Central Government and to organize interface with well-established/leading academicians from the same categories regularly so that the student-teachers are motivated towards achieving their goals.
   4. To make efforts to sensitize the academic community regarding the problems associated with social exclusion as well as aspirations of the marginalized communities.
   5. To provide them access to opportunities thorough guest-lectures and broaden their knowledge.
   6. To introduce to them, social welfare schemes offered by the State Government for the betterment and promotion of these classes.

 Primary Functions of EOC:

The primary functions of the EOC, according to the UGC Guidelines, and as specified in the letter of the Secretary, UGC, dated 26th January 2016, are:

1. 1. To sensitize universities/colleges about the problems of the marginalized/disadvantaged sections of the society so that they are able to improve their performance not only in the education but also in other spheres of life.
   2. To sensitize the mainstream sections of the society towards the problems of the marginalized sections of the society.
   3. To monitor the various schemes/policies of the Government of India and State Governments relating to marginalized/disadvantaged sections.
   4. To ensure that there is an effective functional SC/ST Cell as has been mandated in the DoPT Brochure on Reservation for SC, ST & Other Backward Classes in Services.
   5. To also become an effective tool for gender sensitization and ensure participation in all socially relevant activities of the Universities/ Colleges and NSS.
