Health, Yoga & Sports
The Health, Yoga & Sports department in college is a vital component that focuses on promoting physical well-being, mental health, and overall holistic development among students pursuing a career in education. This department recognizes the significance of a balanced lifestyle, understanding that physical and mental health are essential for effective teaching, learning, and personal growth.
The department’s role extends beyond traditional classroom education, emphasizing the importance of incorporating physical activities, yoga, and mindfulness practices into the lives of aspiring educators. This multidimensional approach prepares future teachers to not only impart academic knowledge but also to act as role models who prioritize health, well-being, and positive lifestyle choices.
Through a comprehensive range of activities, initiatives, and educational programs, the Health, Yoga & Sports department aims to achieve the following objectives in B.Ed. students:
- To encourage students to lead a physically active and healthy lifestyle.
- To provide resources related to mental health awareness and stress management.
- To promote the practice of yoga and meditation for mental and physical health.
- To organize various sports events, competitions to help students develop their physical skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- To conduct workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns on topics related to health and hygiene, nutrition, and wellness.
- To collaborate with other departments to integrate physical and mental well-being into the broader educational experience.
From 2017 to 2022, with the exception of the year 2020-2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a total of 69 events were successfully organized-31 events for boys and 38 events for girls. These events benefited a total of 227 students through various activities. In essence, the Health, Yoga & Sports department plays a pivotal role in shaping well-rounded and empathetic educators who understand the significance of physical and mental health.
